William Shakespeare
The most popular English poet of all time was William Shakespeare who was born on April 26th in 1564. He was also known as one of the best dramatist in the world and owned the English language.
It was during the period of 1590 and 1613 that Shakespear had produced his best works including comedies and history based plays. It wasn’t until near the end of the 16th century that he wrote his infamous tragedies such as the popular MacBeth and Hamlet.
One of the most famous plays that Shakespeare wrote was Romeo and Juliet, which was written in 1595. Some other popular works created by Shakespeare included Twelfth Night as well as The Taming of the Shrew.
Shakespeare was also well known for his poems such as Venus and Adonis, A Lover’s Complaint and The Rape of Lucrece. Shakespeare commanded a unique style of the English language that made him hugely popular.
Altogether Shakespeare had produced 36 plays which was printed in the first ever folio back in 1623. They included all of his tragedies, comedies, as well as his histories. It is also important to mention that no poems were part of the first folio. Shakespeare also played an important role in other plays and has referenced as working collaboratively with other writers. Shakespeare died on April 23rd 1916 two full months before his wife Anne had married another man.
